Friendly • Confident • Loyal
Sometimes I've believed in as many as six impossible things before breakfast. - Alice in Wonderland
Female Border Collie
As a pup, Ruth (affectionately referred to as 'Baby Ruth') was quite the cheerful child. Eternally optimistic, she always strove to see the good in everything. She is extremely curious and often knew more about the world than a pup her age should. Now an adult, Ruth has still manged to retain her cheerful edge although it is more tempered. Having been raised by Oake and Lemore, she adopted a subtle confidence and strength that refuses to submit to anyone. She is able to tend to the hurt with a sweet softness and just as easily dismiss the untrustworthy with a cold sneer. She would go to the ends of the earth for her friends and often gives them more chances than they deserve. Once they've run out of chances, however, it is nearly impossible to get back in her good graces.

history
Ruth grew up in a privileged household - her family owning one of the largest candy companies in the world. Despite that privilege, it never really occurred to her that they were rich - she still had chores that she had to do and she was always told to mind her elders (whether they were her parents, business associates, or the hired help). She grew up happy in a loving home with parents who adored her until the day of her parent's deaths in a tragic accident. Suddenly with no family left in the world she was all alone with many other dogs whose only interest was the company clambering to claim her attention.
As per her parent's request, their head of security and trusted friend was made her guardian. Following her parent's instructions, Oake took her from the city to go live in the valley until she was old enough to lay claim to her fortune, leaving the candy business to be run by another trusted adviser in her place. Despite the loss in her youth, she had a fairly happy childhood with Oake providing her with everything she could need. It was only when she was a little older that she wanted a more feminine influence and turned to the Cocker Spaniel down the lane, Lemore. The older dog had also suffered loss and the two helped each other and, eventually, Ruth gave Lemore and Oake the push they needed.
When she was old enough, her parent's candy factory was handed down to her. Although not quite ready to leave the valley she had grown up in for the city she barely remembered, she accepted control and moved the central part of the headquarters into the valley, opening up a factory while she did so.

Her Role
Ruth is struggling to compete with older dogs who see her as unfit to run a business. Not only that but she's competing with her own insecurities over her lack of business knowledge. Still, she inherited a stubborn streak from the parents she remembers only through photographs and Oake's stories. Not to mention the massive bulk that is Oake watching her back.
