Wendigo
Chess Master • Tenacious • brilliant
Nothing terrifies me, because nothing is beyond my ability to change. - David Xanatos voiced by Jonathan Frakes in Gargoyles
Name: Wendigo
Nicknames: Digo, Wendi (everyone calls him this ... he doesn't like it)
Gender: Male
Breed: German Shepherd
Bought: From rascal (DeviantArt) on 8/31/2015
Original Designer: rascal
Favorite Color: Black
Personality: Wendigo is always five moves ahead of you. It's best to just accept it and move on. His meticulous planning means that he has accounted for every foreseeable outcome and orchestrated them so each one benefits him. A scintillating mind, he could have accomplished anything he wanted ... and somehow he chose the pirate's life instead of one of great power. His every move is calculated to ensure success in the easiest way ... and if that doesn't work to ensure success in the most flamboyant way possible. He lives for a challenge and will go out of his way to seek one all the while remaining impeccably polite and composed. While not the most trustworthy (he's liable to throw you under the bus to further his own agenda) you can at least count on him not to stab you in the back and instead he will hand you a sword and allow you a chance (of course, he does have several escape plans in place in case you do happen to best him). However, if you are one of the few within his inner circle, there is nothing he wouldn't do to protect you.

his Story
Wendigo grew up in the lap of luxury, wanting for nothing and with everything he could ever dream of at his fingertips ... and being completely, utterly bored. At a young age he began to realize that he could hold power over people and set about gathering blackmail in order to further his hold on others. He was still a teenager when he orchestrated the takeover of his father's company, removing the older man from power and placing himself as CO ... despite the fact that his father would have eventually passed the company off to him anyway. Considering his father a silly man and his mother a shrill annoyance (they were especially a drag after his father's downfall), he quickly grew bored of them as well as the business he had stolen out from under them so he sold it off and terminated parental rights before setting off to find a new challenge. For years he traveled the land, occasionally finding new challenges ... and eventually overcoming them. It wasn't long before he found himself the boss of a crime syndicate and enjoyed several successful years outwitting the authorities at every turn.
He found himself in The Valley on the eve of his 23rd birthday, having decided to deal with an issue with a few merchant ships himself. While this was normally something he would send others to take care of, he had begun to find himself bored again and was looking for anything to do. Which is how he somehow ended up in a card game against Captain. Cards weren't something he usually did, finding it too easy to exploit weaknesses and thus not very fun but he relented to the game - as well as a few drinks - considering that it was his birthday the next day ... and promptly found a worthy rival in the smiling Captain. While he had initially passed off the older male as slightly dim and not worth the effort, Captain soon proved himself to be a challenge and even managed to win the game. Not used to loss, Wendigo tracked him down the next day and demanded another game, this time without alcohol. Confused and amused, Captain had accepted ... and won again, telling Wendigo to "Go home, kid" before getting back to work preparing to sail off.
Wendigo had indeed returned to his syndicate and spent the next several months casually trying to ruin (he preferred to call it gently probing a potential new rival) and being offhandedly defeated at every turn ... in fact, the crew of the pirate ship Honor barely even registered his interference. After that he handed down his syndicate to his second in command and returned to the valley to seek out a pirate ship of his own ... of course, he couldn't just buy one and instead joined a crew and spent the next six months organizing a mutiny in order to overthrow the current captain. After that he spent another six months replacing the previous crew (after all, they weren't very trustworthy) with his own hand picked crew before finally returning to The Valley once more to find Captain and his crew and declare them his rivals.
Having declared himself Captain's rival (to Captain's everlasting amusement), he is determined to do everything in his power to bring Captain down slowly and painfully ... all the while remaining polite and running a successful pirate ship.

Fun Facts
- Considers revenge beneath him (unless the person is a worthy rival ... then he considers it fun).
- Would also never kidnap someone's loved ones as he considers this cliche and tactless.
