Happy • Unpretentious • Genuine
The problem in not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem. - Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean
Male Labrador Retriever x German Shorthaired Pointer
Tancho is a very happy fellow. Sometimes it seems that nothing can get him down. He practically lives in the water and the only time anyone has ever seen him grumpy is when he's forced to stay away from the water for extended periods of time. On more than one occasion someone has discovered him sleeping on the beach while the incoming tide gets higher and closer to his resting spot.

His Story
Tancho was abandoned outside an orphanage before he could walk. As he got older, the other kids made fun of him because of his intense stutter and his troubles with learning. He was a difficult child who preferred to act out adventures in his own head than to sit down and learn what what put before him. The Matron was a harsh woman who would punish him for his lapses but it never seemed to make any difference to the happy child. For several years he never left the orphanage grounds except for small errands and it wasn't until Matron was gone on business that several of the older kids snuck out and he followed them to beach across town. This was his first interaction with the beach (albeit, just a small lakeside beach) and he immediately fell in love. While the other kids romped and played games across the sand, he plopped himself down to stare wondrously across the water for several hours before actually approaching the water and discovering even more wonders. After that he would sneak out whenever he could to go down to the beach ... admittedly, he wasn't the best at sneaking and was caught as often as he wasn't. As soon as he was old enough to leave the orphanage, he set out to find the ocean that he had heard about ... and The Valley just happened to be the first port town he came to.
Now, Tancho spends most of his time down at the beach, frolicking in the ocean and burying himself in the sand. He has a very lackadaisical outlook on the world and would be homeless if it weren't for the kindness of strangers who take pity on the friendly young dog. He works odd jobs when he needs to and sometimes considers getting a job ... before getting lured away by the water's siren song. He has undiagnosed severe dyslexia and minor ADHD that has stunted his learning leading to him to shrug off anything that requires reading, writing or concentration. It seems that the only time that he can properly concentrate for long periods of time is when he's watching the ocean waves.
