Huston
Country boy • Laid Back • hard worker
Country roads, take me home ... to the place ... I belong. - John Denver
Male Lab Mix
Huston is a good ol' country boy from Texas. He's got a slow southern drawl and a smirk that could melt paint off a barn. His eyes seem to see everything but he generally keeps quiet about the stuff that he sees. He can drink the best of them of them under the table and be out working on his truck early the next morning, no worse for wear. He enjoys traipsing through mud and prefers to be covered in dirt out working than squeaky clean at a party. He doesn't like one night stands and is quite capable of turning down even the most beautiful of females ... he has a bit more trouble turning down a handsome fellow, of course (not that he would dare tell anyone this).

His Story
Huston grew up in the middle of nowhere in small town America. His mother died when he was young and his father was an angry, hard man who didn't believe that knowledge could be found within the brick walls of a school and so kept Huston home to school him ... or, have him work the farm as the case would be. When he did get time away, he was inevitably with his best friend Redneck (despite his father's opposition). Redneck was the wild child of the entire county and got them into more than their share of trouble which Huston would always manage to get them out of ... despite a few close calls. As they got older, Redneck began 'dating' through what sometimes seemed like every young available (and sometimes not so available) female within several counties while Huston dated a few times before giving up the idea. He was intelligent and self-aware enough to realize that he found his date's brothers more attractive ... and had heard the anti-homosexual mantra enough times to feel ashamed of his preferences so he hid his leanings.
Before they were even old enough to be out on their own, Redneck convinced Huston to leave their small town and journey somewhere else - concerned that the bitter old man might one day murder Huston in one of his drunken rages. Huston refused at first, misplaced loyalty to his father keeping him on the farm before a particularly bad night left him with a broken leg and a need to flee. With Redneck's help, he left his childhood home and the two have never looked back.
Now, Huston is enjoying the freedom that comes with no longer living under his father's iron rule. He's managed to fit in fairly well although he still refuses to admit that he is gay ... mostly because he's afraid that his best friend/brother Redneck wouldn't accept him. The two have made several friends and have both settled down to the life that living in the valley brings.
